   I have just installed WordPress and I changed my folder properities to 777. Whenever I try to enter the FTP information to upload a plug-in or theme using a .zip file it says "Failed to connect to FTP Server" even though the FTP settings are correct as I used them with FileZilla

   Are you connecting as FTP or Secure FTP?

   I only have one choice: FTP

   To fix it you need to change the owner of the wordpress folder. See: http://www.jorble.com/2011/12/wordpress-solution-failed-to-connect-to-ftp-server-localhost21/
