UPDATE: I solved the menu problem, so only the frozen widget page still needs to be addressed. Thx.

I just upgraded my blog from Weaver to Weaver II and had to make a few adjustments to iron out quirks. Two problems persist, however. I spent a good deal of time on the Weaver forum, but mods said these are both core WordPress issues. I did some searching here as well, but found no solutions that worked for me. I should preface this by saying I am not HTML/CSS literate, but I can follow clear instructions. So…

I’m using WP 3.5.1 and Weaver II 1.3.2, my ISP is webhostinghub, and the blog is visible here: http://www.blog.adennichols.com.

First, after the upgrade, my menu started acting weird. I only have two items (Home and About). They appear correctly in the Appearance > Menus page, but initially, the menu was only displaying Home, then a bit later it started displaying Home About Home (with the About in blue–all text should be black)–and this is what it’s doing now.

I tried creating a custom menu, and that initially worked, but as I was addressing other issues, the menu problem returned. I then tried reverting to the default menu (no go) and deleting the custom menu and creating another from scratch, but again, no joy.

Problem #2: My Appearance > Widgets page is frozen. The text that should appear under the Widgets header (Drag widgets from here to a side bar [etc]…) is missing as well.

I deactivated and deleted a cache plugin (as the Weaver mods said the theme is not compatible with most cache plugins, and they can cause erratic behavior of this sort), but that didn’t help. I also tried deactivating all of the plugins, but that didn’t do anything either. I have about a dozen plugins will provide a list, if it would be on any help.

Any suggestions would be most welcome! TIA

Solved the frozen Widget Page issue. Found an old post (over 2 yrs old!) that suggested this: Drop down the Screen Options tab at the upper right of the Widget Page and deselect Accessibility Mode. I don’t know why there’s a conflict there (that’s above my pay grade), but I tried it and it worked for me. YMMV…

Should have checked the “Mark this topic as solved” box. My bad…
