Front Page is not the selected static page. (5 posts)

I've selected a static page to be the Front Page using the built in Options> Reading> Front page displays:> A Static page> Front page: (one of my static pages).

But all I get are my latest posts when I view the web site and selecting the the same static page from the sidebar shows the latest posts.

I have tried it with the WordPress Default 1.6 theme in case redoable 1.2 has a bug but I still don't see the selected static page as my front page.

Is there something I'm not getting?

I assume this feature is to select a static page as the first page someone sees when they visit the site.

Do you have another page selected as the page for your posts to appear on?

    I did not.

I have now created a static page for the posts but the problem persists.

The problem was related to the plugin: Extended Live Archives 0.10beta-r18.

    I should have known better.

Ah. Glad you found it, then. I had no idea what to tell you! There are other archives plugins which perform similar functionality. Perhaps you can try one of them?
