    Hi George,
    I’m trying your plugin for the first time, and it’s very nice.

    I found a small issue. In the Front Page Description, I wanted to have some words with apostrophes, along the lines of “you’re” or “let’s”. When I save them, the apostrophe vanishes. I decided to try using the character entity for apostrophe, but that didn’t work, either.

    I checked fields on pages, and they seem to use the apostrophe just fine. Maybe the field validation or sanitizing is different for the Front Page Description?

    Any help appreciated, and very nice work.

    Hello. Sorry for the late reply.

    The settings page (Settings->Metadata) uses less strict sanitization functions than those on the post editing panel. This is definitely a bug and will be fixed in upcoming releases. The reason it has currently a low priority is that the plugin settings page is accessed by admins only.

    Regarding the apostrophe it will no longer be replaced with an empty space in the 2.5.0 release which will be out soon.

    I am reopening this topic. It seems that apostrophes are converted to:

    & # 0 3 9 ;

    possibly by a sanitization function. Will need to investigate this issue more.

    Having done some research about this, it appears that HTML escaped single quotes within the description meta tag are fine and the way to go.
