Front page (5 posts)

Being new to using WP, I have set up a bolg and decided that I needed a warning page at the front. Having created a warning page I then set it to display as the front page. Great.. except that there is no mention of the fact that by using this option one loses the use of the posts tab. Having searched the forums and documentation, I have been unable to resolve this problem. Can anybody provide me with a straightforward list of instructions on what to change, and where the change is made, in order to correct this problem?

    With thanks

What is "the use of posts tab"?

I am referring to the tab along the top of my blog (labelled BLOG in my case) that ordinarily leads to the posts section of my blog, the other tabs leading to pages that I have crated. When I create a page and use it as a static front page, the "BLOG" tab (along with the tab for the page I have created) then leads to the static front page, not the posts. The only way to get to the actual posts is then via the archives, etc links.

    Hope that makes it clearer.

i think what is hapening might be that the 'blog' tab is a link to your home page but that because you are on your home page it is dissapearing. maybe not. either way it sounds like you are going to have to add in a seperate nav item for that.

can you post a link to your site because i'm not entirely sure i'm following you...
