Front-end in Redirect Loop (Back-end OK) (6 posts)

I upgraded my blog from 3.0.5 to 3.1. I was able to run the db udpate, but when I then tried to visit the blog I get an error.

    Firefox:

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

    Opera:

    "Redirection Status

The URL was redirected to http://soundunreason.com/InkWell/. Please click the link to go there."

If I manipulate the URL I can access the back-end of the blog (sign-in or whatever). I couldn't figure out what might be causing the problem so I created a second blog (see below) which also errors. My front-end gets this redirect loop (my back-end is accessible).

    http://www.soundunreason.com/InkWell/

    http://jamesisin.com/a_high-tech_blech/

(This second blog has neither plugins nor posts.)

    A little help?

Lots of threads on this topic, mostly on Windows host servers.

Here is a good place to start:

adiant - Thanks. I've seen a lot of folks talking about adding a plugin to address the issue. That is not an acceptable solution. I'm hoping for a real fix. In the meantime I rolled my main blog (The Ink Wells) back to v3.0.5 until I am able to see the fresh installation (A High-Tech Blech!) working as expected (sans plugins).
