Hi Tareq I'm confused by the status of the thread it is now [resolved] Front-end. It seemed that you were leaning towards a front end. couldn't this be done with a short code and just tell us the size of the window.

My search for a plug in to assist a group in facilitating each other to take a possibility and make it alive and real in the world. from my experience in creating possibility and fulfilling on it; you have the fundamental of making it public, having committed listeners, a way to have an organized and motivated group, planing made up of milestones that are real in time and place. When completed move the game along to having the possibility alive in the world. Assigned actions to a milestone that when all are accomplished it fulfill on the milestone, Resources assigned to tasks with descriptions. A way to communicate to the group on tasks and milestones. to communicate on status or mini wins when completing a task and milestone, updates and added tasks. Lastly if you want to win a game you need a score board that easy to look at and get where you are. That show how the game is going a status bar that is green or red to a % or milestone. When you open the game you see the score board. See how you are doing easly in one view.

The use of Buddypress makes it a group support and coaching platform. It would be powerful in the group feature of buddy press. It's about making public deceleration to the group and the group supporting them in there actions, progress and listening to them as bigger then their circumstance. Similar to this support forum creates a powerful listening of you and adds acknowledgment for your amazing work.

This application what would make a difference for any group that is creating a possibility, making a game for there group, gaining momentum and accomplishing something important to them. non-profits, raising money for a project or person. community projects. church projects, coaching professional, business, financial planers, you name it.

Project management is not sexy motivating or fun. I call them games, games are fun, motivating and who doesn't want to win a game. You could call it group games.

There you go my 2 cents worth. I wish I was a programmer. i'm sure it's a big project but it would be a huge addition to buddypress world.

    Hi

    Font end ? Back End ? .....

I´m a designer and architect. My experience in developing web is quite extended from a visual and UI point of view. My coding is very limited. My clients don't have any idea of this, and they don´t care about it. They hire people like me or others to take care of their visual & communicational problems. They want it easy, fast and cheap.

Having this in mind, my responsibility towards them is to give them a fluent work flow. Not complicated, just 5 minutes to know how things are going, and see what they have to do, and what I have done.

They hire me because of my work as a designer. If they go into my Admin side of word press is like telling them that I haven’t done the right work in designing my self a nice site, why should I do it for them.

Taking it to the front end is a must in this plug in. You can always use it in the back end as an administrator if you want. But my clients need to stay in the front end.

When you go and buy a nice car, you don’t go to the mining and factories to see how is the car build. You sit down in a nice sofa and drink the coffee they offer you.

    :)

We need and want a front end possibility. Other wise it is not useful for users like me. And I´m sure we would pay a small amount for that to happen.

P.D. Please make sure it is Responsive and Translatable (it opens up your possibilities of increasing the users)

    Thanks

So, Tareq... given everything that's been said over the last couple of weeks, have we convinced you to build a front end yet?

    :-)

    Hey Guys,

Frontend plugin for WP Project Manager released. It's a separate plugin and it's not *free* to download. You can purchase it from here.

Minimum version 0.4 of Project Manager plugin is required to work with frontend.

AWESOME!! I will purchase this soon and test it out. I will gladly promote it on my site as well if I find that it does the job well. Nevertheless, thank you Tareq for listening to our demands and responding positively and promptly. I will update my blog post (http://www.jmdezigns.com/2012/08/21/the-missing-wordpress-plugin-part-i/ ) to indicate that your plugin now has filled this gaping hole in for wordpress, after testing.

ps: the Plugin demo link on your site is not working.

Actually I haven't put any demo because of spammers. Frontend is the same as backend, only without project creation feature.

Well done Tareq. Exactly what does the plugin allow one to view on the front end?

    Hi Tareq

    Good Job and thanks.

    2 questions

1.- Does it work with WPML?
    2.- Is it Responsive?

    Thanks

    1. I haven't tested with WPML. It should be translatable. If the main plugin is translatable, then this one is too. Try and let me know.

    2. No, it's not.

Question from a relative newbie to this forum thing(this is my second try) I will try to explain what I need. The thing is that I am new to creating a multi-purpose website called UnitingCreatives.com. I have had a helper working and building it, who has been unable to finish building it with me for family reasons...and I am striving to get certain things to work right. I've been a bit flummoxed.

Right now I have Buddy Press, Digital Access Pass, our blogging platform and a few other plugins on the site. And I am trying to get the forums to do what it appears that your platform is designed perfectly to do.

I am essentially a non-profit type of social commerce group working with volunteers to organize a community revisioning project. My people are not techies, they are community focussed people - and I need them to be able to access the site from the front end. I will have an array of people reading the progress, volunteering and participating in achieving the results. so I need to be able to control access to comment and work on it; and probably it will be password protected to paying members of the whole site. There will be a team leaders and we will be doing masterminding, then adding documments, videos, pictures and more...so that all the members can participate in building their project.

Can this work with those plugins? Or do I need to work with a different combination?

Please tell me all that I need to know...thanks. I think I can figure out how to go buy it and plug it in...and then maybe you can tell me what I need to know to make it work?

Joy, you posted this in the wrong place.

Go to the "plugins" section of the repository and do a search for "front end". You find several capable plugins that should get you where you want, or close. Read carefully. Not only the plugins description, but the support section, and if they show a website for the plugin, go there as well. And perhaps even google up a search on Front End WordPress. The reason to be careful is of course, the front end is way more accessible and vulnerable, so whatever safeguards are recommended, by all means implement them before taking it live.

    Best of luck.

By the way, you might also work your way to the various WordPress groups on LinkedIn. Very helpful.

Bob...so where is the plugins section of the repository...and do a search for "front end". I just bought the WP project manager and the front end thing that the Tareq just posted that he built. I assume it should work.

Ouch! Tareq has come up with a wonderful project management system that initially worked only in the back end. After prodding from his fans, he developed an add-on so that his plugin could operate or at least be viewable in the front end. If you have no need for project management, which I'm guessing you don't, then just put the plugin aside for another day or site.

In the interim, this post itself is inside of the forum which is a part of the WordPress repository of information, also including plugins, themes, and the Codex.

If you scroll to the top, you'll see the Navigation menu has the word "Support" highlighted, so to speak. You need to look to the left of that and click on the "Plugins" tab/link.

That will take you to the "Plugin Directory". In the center, you'll see a search bar. Type in front end, and hit Search Plugins. You'll then be presented with page after page with plugins that match or closely match those keywords (front end). Do not stop looking after a page or two. Just keep trucking along until you've gone through about 15 pages of plugins. Then try typing in frontend (as one word), in case the plugin description uses the phrase as a single word.

    Happy hunting.

By the way Joy, be sure to back up your site before installing various plugins. Especially as you are using ElegantThemes. I love 'em, but they have a tendency to not play well with the other kids. They will resolve any issues in their support forum of course, but be sure you have a back up. And be sure you have access to your files, preferably via an FTP like Filezilla. If a plugin breaks the site, it's easy to go in and take it out from the back end.

    Hi Joy

I just want to make sure I am clear on what it is you are seeking to have your site do exactly. When you say "I am trying to get the forums to do what it appears that your platform (WordPress support forums I presume) is designed perfectly to do", what do you mean exactly. What is it that the wordpress forums do, that you want yours to do?

You also mentioned that "I need them to be able to access the site from the front end". Again, I am not clear on what this means. I am sorry that I am not understanding the explanation you already provided, but I would like to help if I can.

As I understand from his post, he needs a subscription and access control based system where he can control which users can have which options and it should be in the frontend.

@Joy Gilfilen, you posted in the WordPress support forum, but you posted it in a wrong section. The section where you posted is the support section for a specific plugin and thats "WP Project Manager" plugin. Go here and create a new topic, someone might help you.

    Hi Tareq,

I have a VA company and what I would like to do is to use your plugin so that my clients can requests tasks/jobs to be done by logging into my site and uploading their requirements in a to-do/project management application. Once loaded, my pool of VA's can either access back end/receive an email about the job that needs doing and getting on with the task. Updates can be provided which clients can see when they log in

Does your plugin allow this as your earlier post states "front end is the same as back end, only without project creation feature"

This sort of hinders what I want to achieve

@SOHOOutsourcing, are you asking for project creation feature from frontend too? It'll come out very soon!

Yes I am, for the plugin to work as I need it to, clients will need to create tasks, to do lists, project from the website.

Any ideas as to when this will be available?
