   hello all -

   i searched for similar posts without success so i hope this issue hasn't been covered overly much already and i missed it somehow.

   just installed wordpress 2.8.6 on a new site and everything seems well enough except the admin menu is messed up looking, like the menu headings are staggered or nested or something, here's an image :

   this is a completely fresh install and i experienced the same thing after deleting everything and re-installing a second time. i have other wordpress installations running on this hosting account that aren't having this issue so i'm a bit perplexed. any ideas?

   Try re-uploading all files & folders (except wp-content and your wp-config.php file) from a fresh download of WordPress.
