Fresh Banana Theme Critique & Support (18 posts)

I've mostly completed my latest theme, Fresh Bananas (it's named that because it was originally yellow, but I liked the name so much I kept it).

I have two things I want from you'll:

    1. A heavy and mean critique.
    2. A good link on localization. I'm attempting to learn how to make it easily compatible with language files and localization, but my searches have not revealed much in the way of beginning localization.

    Thank you very much,
    Jeff Wheeler.

You probably mean a fair critical assessment of your blog, rather than mean, otherwise everyone could tell you it sucks even if it doesn't. That would be mean.

Alright, can I have a critical assessment in that case?

Critical assessment: It's easy on the eyes (though chartreuse is better in a bottle than on a page.... - how about something in ivory or peach? Yup, I am female....), and considerably less "boxy" so more "organic" than many themes out there right now.

I can't help you on the localization, sorry.

anybody else? Does anybody know about localization?

These two links explain about WP and localization. There's two translated default templates on the first link. Maybe they'll give an idea how to setup a localized template.

I would like to customize this theme in order to delete the vertical dot along the sidebar and to replicate the same layout of the main page page for each section in the sidebar .

If it is clear enough .

Sorry for my poor English and Thanks in advance ...

I just installed the Fresh Bananas theme. The one thing I noticed is when you click on an archive or a category the links that are normally on the right (friends, archives, categories, etc..) are centered below the posts. How can I put them to the right of the post like on the main page?

    Best Regards,
    Brian

I figured it out. All you have to do is delete <?php get_sidebar(); ?> at the bottom of the archive.php file.

    Brian

Can somebody help me figure out what the problem is with this theme on my blog?
I installed it and get a Parse Error message:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '}' in /home/analilia/public_html/wp-content/themes/fresh-bananas/comments.php on line 1

It won't display my comments or allow you to leave a comment.
I love this theme, and hope I can get some support to work with it.
    Thank You!
