   Some french accents work fine. But others are replaced by black diamonds with a white question mark in them.

   Just look at the text under each post.

   Those are coming from your template file(s). Did you edit them? If yes - did you save them with the proper encoding? i.e. even in Notepad you have the option to define the encoding of a saved file: make sure it is utf-8.
