I know that a lot of you will say there aren't any good free hosts but i just wanted one to build a wordpress site on for somebody. Then when it's done i can move it to the host that they are already using to replace their current site.

If there isn't any, are there any decent cheap hosts i could use, preferably UK based.

    Thanks

the problem with free hosts is some functionality is limited
    I would develop locally personally

    however, 000webhost.com is decent

I thought about doing it locally but it needs to be online so different people can see it.

You can try 000webhost.com, byethost.com, freehostia.com, x10hosting.com, I think they are decent free hosting.

We've actually decided to use unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk.

Anybody have any experience of these?

Free host lacks the freedom of adding in functionalities/plugins

Really? http://phpfog.com/. You get awesome hosting for one site/app and git support. This is just awesome. Also note http://orchestra.io/

Due the amount of spam that hosting threads attract, I'm now closing this one.
