Formatting the tag cloud widget

I’m using WordPress 3.0.04 with Atahaulpa 3.6.1. The tag cloud is picking up the default text and link formatting that is in the body of my posts. I want it to use the same formatting (mainly link color, active lint, visited link) behavior as the other widgets (category, subscribe to, archives, recent posts, blogroll, recent comments). The guys that wrote the theme don’t know how to fix it because it’s not part of their code. I’m not sure how you get into the code of a widget or if I would even know how to fix it if I did.

Also when the tags get big (frequently used) they seem to expand over top of the sidebar and spill into the center. This doesn’t look very attractive and I’d like to fix that too.
