The posts under Categories, for some reason, has its formatting stripped. Here's an example. The 2nd post on this page used to be a table, as seen in its single post page.

How do I maintain the posts' formatting when its viewed under Categories index pages?

    I'm a PHP newbie.

    Thanks!

It has nothing to do with PHP. (Why is everybody using that as an excuse for not learning the tool they are using...= WP.)

It's about the template tags used in the index (the_content) and in the archive.php (the_excerpt).
Read their description in the Codex:

    Thanks moshu.

I read about the themes and templates and studied the ones I use and am unsure what exactly should I be looking for? I don't see any references where WP strips table and style formatting from the posts. What do I need to look for?

In the index.php file of the theme you have this:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_content
and in the archive.php this one:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_excerpt
Read out loudly the first section:
    1. Description.

Thanks, moshu for directing me to the right place. I was dense on this topic. No need to get snippy about it.
