Form plugins & modal windows.... (7 posts)

Has anyone been successful in integrating forms from either Contact Form 7 or cformsII into a modal window?

I already know about the Simple Modal Contact Form plugin and I don't really want to use it because I want the client to be able edit the form with one of the aforementioned form plugins... but I can't seem to get them to work correctly with any of the lightboxes.

I set up a cformsII form as inline content and was able to make a modal using shadowbox-js, BUT the form didn't actually let me enter anything into the fields after it opened up. I'm sure it's just all javascript mumbo jumbo... and I've never been a javascript guru...

I don't really expect anybody to just flat out tell me how to do this, but I'd really appreciate a link to a tutorial or something if one exists. I've tried googling but with very little success and the only mention of it on the cforms site forum was pretty useless because the guy just said "go learn about jquery" and that's just too broad to be helpful.

I am trying to incorporate contact form 7 into a modal window as well.
I am using colorbox as modal.
Calling the form as inline. It shows up and then I can enter the text.
But when submitting it's like it gets lost and doesn't do anything but come back to teh initial state.

I am just starting to troubleshoot this. I'll let you know if I can help you/find my answers....

    cheers

What about puting the form in a hidden div, and then using SimpleModal (the jQuery plugin, not the WP contact form plugin) to display the contact form?

the SimpleModal idea worked perfectly for my site

However as I have also use a mootools plugin (Featured Content Gallery) I had to use the jQuery.noConflict http://docs.jquery.com/Using_jQuery_with_Other_Libraries to allow both scripts to work.

    Hope this helps.

Inlines with Thickbox are easy to create. I have written about using it with Contact form 7 (http://www.skepo.info/web-development/wordpress/beautiful-wordpress-contact-form/). Have not tried to create modal.

I created a WordPress modal form with colorbox and contact 7 successfully. The only issue is that if the form is big, the ajax alert after form submission goes hidden in the overflow area.
