  • If your old hosting account is still active you will be able to get into it’s hosting control panel area to download a copy of the database. Your old hosting company will be able to help you with that.

    If it’s not active, then contact the old hosting company and ask if they have any backups. They might, but also be prepared that if they do they will probably want to charge for sending you something, and if they don’t… well, I hate to say it but you’ll be out of luck.

    As much as it hurst, this is another good example of why you should always keep a local backup of the websits files and the database. Things like this do happen, and unfortunately it’s only when they do that we find out that it’s too late.
