• I logged into my site and it prompted me to do an automatic DB update. I had to say yes to continue so I did it. Then I made one small edit to a page and logged out. Next day my boss says she was browsing the site and all the recent changes I had made for her over the past few months were gone, its like the site lost pretty much all the changes and edits I made to it. This has to be because of the DB update right? I mean they were there the day before, now they are not. ANY Solutions to restore the changes??? I’m afraid I don’t have a recent backup.

Does wordpress always force you to do these upgrades?? I think its kind of BS if it forces you to do it then you lose all your changes.

  • Not all WordPress core updates require a database update, only periodically. I find it hard to believe that the loss of content was due to the core update or the database update. Regardless, if you don’t have a backup, there’s probably not much you can do.

Always have backups. And have backups of your backups.
