I have been using flare for the past month and I've found it very useful. However, a few days ago (I'm not sure when), I updated it and found out today that I've been displaying ads for a company called Filament with this plugin. So, I've been unknowingly spamming my users with ads that I didn't intentionally place there. These ads were not present with the original version I downloaded.

They didn't warn us, there is not consent to display the ads, and there is no opt-out. It seems crazy to me that a company would lure users into using their product then use that product, without the consent of website owners, to spam their advertisement on every website using the plugin. It's simply disrespectful to the userbase.

I will never use Flare or any product by Filament or Digital Telepathy again.

    Nothing else to add.

Thanks for the feedback. We heard a lot from the community, and have just released an update that makes the branding optional. In addition, we're working on a pro version of Flare, that adds a bunch of awesome functionality to the plugin. You can get all the details here:

Hopefully we can persuade you to take a second look! =)
