I do no to install the footnotes.

Can you clarify what you mean by footnotes, the footnote of a post or the footer of the theme?

Mercine thank you for yur prompt response.....When I write an article and I cite from another source.....normally there is a little number that is placed in the text, and a corresponding number is automaticallly placed below the page with the exact source of the quotation cited has to be written.

It is very improtant in writing articles so that the writer can say where he gets his information from....its a way of giving repsect, honour and thanks to other writers! it is not the footer of the theme.....I think it can be seen as the footnotes withn a post...

If I am not clear ....do nto hesitate to inform me...thank you so much for reponding.

You don't need to download the plugin. If you're running WP 2.7 or above, just go to your wp-admin dashboard then go Plugins > Add New and type name of plugin, then install and activate.

To know what WP version you're on, go to admin dashboard and check the bottom right corner of your screen.

Btw, are you on WordPress.com or a blog with domain name and webhosting?

Thanks again, yes I am on a blog with domain name and web hosting which uses wordpress as its base....also I have a blog from word press..in this blog I purchased a domain name with word press..
This is getting to be so complicated..
these are my blogs. wwww.J73Ve.Com this is entirely word press

then http://www.vincentesprit.com ...this is with AEG publishers.

I could not find in either of these blogs (in the lower right corner) the information concerning the actual versions of wordpress I am using.

    thanks for helping
