    So I have no idea what is going on here. My footer is wrapped in random "strong" divs but it's not in my footer.php file.

    Any help?

    The site I'm working on is here

    The footer also seems to be underneath the header now?

    Any help would be great

    That's definitely it. Thanks!

    However, my footer is still appearing in my dev tools as in the middle of the page. Any ideas on why this is?

    The ul/nav that's in that div are in the right place, but the footer div is really off. It's making it all caddywompus!

    Thanks for the help

    I've got the footer at the bottom of the content with

    clear: both;

    but the wrapper background still repeats under it.

    Not sure how to fix!

    Looks like I fixed it?

    For some reason, my wrapper had

    content:".";

    in the CSS class. I deleted that and it seems to have fixed it. Anyone know what that was for?

    The site is broken again. I had some unclosed line breaks (br) and now that I've closed them it's broken. No background image is showing up. Ideas?

    Ok, well I added that back. Now I'm just curious. What is:
    content:".";
    For?

    What is:
    content:".";

    have a look at:
    http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_pseudo_classes.asp
    http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_gen_content.asp

    and do a web search on 'clear floats'
