Footer size, navigation menu size & infinite scroll

A few things I need help with. My blog is http://squeakykitchen.com/

1. How do I get my footer to be smaller? I have removed all the widgets from footer.php but I am left with a great big blank of black. I’d like to size it down to where the horizontal line just above the credits.

2. I’d like the size of my navigation bar where the Home / About /Contact etc are to be much smaller. Similar to Hemingway Rewritten. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/hemingway-rewritten/

3. I’ve played around with Hemingway Rewritten and really like the infinite scroll feature on it. How do I get that on Hemingway?
