    On the blog page it shows next to the sidebar..
    the site I am working on is grovenorhouse.info you can see the issue on the news page which is the blog/posts for the site.

    Have you tried deactivating your plugins to see if any are causing that? Have you modified any theme files?

    Because you have closed <div id="main" class="site-main"> this div after center, that's why the footer is going up of sidebar.

    Because you have closed main id div after center you should close this before center this will rectify you problem.

    I don't get it? My footer.php looks like this:

    <!-- #page-wrapper -->
    <div>
    <center>

    © 2013 Grovenor House
    2627 S Bayshore Dr, Miami, FL 33133 (305) 854-1223
    </div>
    </center>

    </body>
    </html>

    And I don't see the div id "main" only see it in the Header.php

    You have a lot of major mark-up errors on that page:

    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fgrovenorhouse.info%2Fnews%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

    BTW, <center> tags are deprecated - not a good way to code centering. Use CSS instead.

    I don't have access to your site so have no way to know where those errors are. Did you modify theme files? Not a good idea - except using a child theme - as is your changes are going to be lost when the theme is updated.

    You may want to ask on the theme's own forum for additional help with this - http://wordpress.org/support/theme/vantage
