  • I need help with my page footer.

The footer area has content in it (i.e. 5 links & 1 text) which someone else put there after I gave them access to do some work for me but they stopped after a short while and left me with a barely started site.

So I now have this footer content which for the life of me I can’t find how & where it was inserted and therefore I can’t change or remove it.

I’m relatively new to WordPress 3.3.1 and I also have Thesis 1.8.2 installed. I would be really grateful if someone could help me work out where the footer content is located on my site.

    My site is http://www.emrconsulting.com.au.

    Regards, Frank

  • Footer content is usually in the file footer.php. You should be able to access this from Dashboard –> Appearance –> Editor, and then click on the link on the right hand side to the footer.

It sounds as if it’s too late to point out that the only recommended way of making changes to themes is via a Child Theme.

Thank you for your reply. I have “Thesis” selected in the “Selected Theme to Edit” drop down menu on the right in the Editor screen. There is no footer.php in the list of files to edit under “Thesis” theme.

I didn’t know about child themes for Thesis framework? I thought generally this was not required for Thesis?

    Thanks again for your help.

    Regards, Frank

As Thesis is a commercial Theme, you will need to consult the support offerings provided by the developer, DIY Themes.

Thank you for your time anyway. Just found the problem. The footer entries were in the openhook plugin. Cheers, Frank
