[resolved] Footer is not pushing to bottom (3 posts)

    I am working with a custom theme that was written for this site. For some reason, I can't get the footer to push to the bottom of the page. The text inside the footer pushes, but not the horizontal line, which is just a <hr> tag.

    Here's an example of the problem. Notice the horizontal line hidden behind the body text at the top of the page. I want that line to directly precede the footer text at the bottom, underneath the content.

    Here is my CSS for the footer:

    #footer
    {
    width:800px;
    padding-top:10px;
    margin-top:30px;
    padding-bottom:20px;
    margin-bottom:40px;
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    color: #999999;
    font-size: 12px;
    font-family:"Eras Medium ITC", Arial;
    line-height:22px;
    text-align:left;
    margin-left: 25px;
    }

    Thanks!

    Add the following directly above div id="footer"

    <div style="clear: both;"></div>

    Thanks, equalmark. I actually fixed the issue by floating the footer to the right.
