Footer copyright info- is it ok to ADD text?

I am very new here to WP and asked a question earlier which i see has been closed for discussion, probably as the way i stated it violates WP rules and i understand.

All i want to know is if it is allowable to just ADD to the footer,
not delete any design copyright information.

I did not design the theme. I just want my footer info to show 2 more things: my wordpress URL and 2009, that is all….

DOES THIS VIOLATE ANY TERMS, RULES or CONDITIONS???
