You can replace the bad footer.php file by downloading a new copy of the theme to your local computer and then using FTP, replace just that file in your theme.
BTW, you should not be making any changes to theme files — but rather using a child theme. That way, your changes won’t be overwritten and lost when the theme is updated.

hi,
I am working locally and ofcourse (sorry….) haven’t made a child-theme. Thus, downloading the ‘new’ theme will overwrite my site…
I know, I should do that, making a child-theme, but haven’t done that.
In the mean time, perhaps someone just has the code of the footer.php for me?

replace just that file in your theme.
Not the entire theme — just footer.php — from a copy downloaded to your computer — not via your WP installation.
Download from here:
http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/catch-box
And yes, do the child theme now. You are creating much more work and grief for yourself down the road — really, you don’t want to go there :).

I will create a child-theme. I know in how much trouble I will get.
Do you perhaps have a suggestion how I can change the current footer.php (Thus, my own firm as the copyrightholder, no wordpress-themes and thanks?

@iris17: For footer copyright, it is not a good practice to remove it for free theme. You should only edit those if you are using premium or pro version of the theme.
To do that just upgrade to Catch Box Pro and you will find footer editor box in your Theme Options http://catchthemes.com/themes/catch-box-pro/
