Font un-bolded after installing new font?

After installing a new .ttf font to my site, all the bolded text that I previously had became unbolded. When editing the page, however, the font shows itself as bolded.
I am using the font LiberationSans-Regular.ttf, found here:
http://www.dafont.com/liberation-sans.font
How can I fix this problem?
