font suggestions

I would like to get some font suggestions for my blog. I’ve been using Verdana but for some reason on my blog this font makes a word like “click” look like “dick”. I’m not trying to be profane here, just to get the point across. I’ve been kind of amazed at how often the “cl” combination exists in the English language. 🙂
So I’m looking for another font. Mainly what I want is something that will be very clear to read, look professional or attractive and perhaps provide sufficient spacing between the letters so that the aforementioned problems (or others like it) won’t happen. Hopefully it’s not obnoxious to add that I’d like a font that looks good in both IE and Firefox.
