    Hi,

    Just another in a long list of things I can't work out how to change (very new to this). I want to make the font size of the author bio title 'Welcome to my site' much smaller. I have tried changing various font sizes and h1 in style.css but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Here's my site so far:

    Don't modify theme files - your changes will be lost when the theme is updated. Instead use a custom CSS plugin - and ADD changes there.

    I'm not sure which text you want to change - can you clarify that?

    Do you have any recommendations for the best 'custom css plugin' and also, is this the same as a 'child theme' sorry to be annoying but I am veeery new to this.

    The text I am trying to change is in the home page sidebar and says.

    'Welcome to Simply Support'...it's the largest font on the page by a long way

    custom css plugin is not the same as a child theme. A child theme is fairly quite easy to make. Just follow steps here

    Just post this in your custom css or your child theme stylesheet.

    h2 {
    font-size: 46px;
    }

    and just edit the pixel to whichever size you want

    Or if you want to use a custom CSS plugin, there are quite a few that will work fine - search the plugins page - here's one that I like:
