    Yes, adding <h4> HTML is not a good approach here. Not only would it be semantically wrong, it also has the drawback about the spacing that you observed (which is a result of the theme’s CSS).
    Instead, I suggest the way that is described in these FAQ entries:

    http://tablepress.org/faq/highlight-cells-or-content/
    You will probably want a combination of the CSS from both these entries.

    About the other question: With that, you mean sorting on the “Edit” screen? That is still possible, but should be faster now: Just take a look at the top row of the input fields. You can see small sorting arrows next to the column title there, which will sort the table.
