    So i have been editing the code in this theme to change all text font from baskerville to futura as but i have been seeing a lot of inconsistent fonts in different browsers and in on different computers. It seems to be times new roman at times and baskerville at others but it is only actually futura on a small number of computers and browsers. Font is very important in branding my site so any help with how to make the font more consistently Futura would be appreciated.

    The way these fonts work in the Spun theme is by using Google's font library.

    For example, right click on your page and select 'View source'. Then search for "font" in the code. Do you see the font files being called in?

    Unless the font family is common across browsers you can't just specify it in the CSS and expect it to work in them (if any). Fonts need to be embedded in through cufon, font-face or Google fonts methods.

    There is a plugin for the Google fonts method; http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-google-fonts/

    Sorry I didn't see your website link in your second post.

    It looks like you need to add some Custom CSS in the plugin's "optional" step: http://s.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-google-fonts/screenshot-1.jpg?r=786951

    For example to change the logo font try:

    .site-title {
     font-family: "Allerta";
    }

    Try;

    .site-title,
    .entry-title,
    .entry-title a {
     font-family: "Allerta";
    }

    thank you this worked well! do you know if there is a way i can edit the font style such as

    .site-title,
    font-weight: 600,
    .entry-title,
    .entry-title a {
    font-family: "Allerta";
    }

    some of the fonts dont have options built into the plugin

    Add it after the first opening bracket ({), see CSS syntax: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_syntax.asp

    E.g,

    .site-title,
    .entry-title,
    .entry-title a {
     font-family: "Allerta";
     font-weight: 600;
    }

    If you made a change to the style.css file and the theme updated then your change would have been erased. All modification to the theme's files are erased when the theme updates.

    how do i change the color of my links from black to blue,

    Which links?

    Do i need another plug in for this?

    You might be able to use the "Custom CSS" section from the Google Font plugin.

    so if you click my post why product placement... the second paragraph starts In This..this is a hyperlink but it doesn't come up blue or even darker black.

    Also is there a way to protect my editing from updates by keeping it how it is? I'm just nervous that when the next update comes out my color/font/size editing i did in the style.css will be completely erased.

    It comes up blue for me.

    There is a CSS style that sets the colour of links black when they have been visited. Perhaps you've visited that link?

    You can use a spot-the-difference tool like Diffchecker to examine what it is you changed from the original stylesheet.

    That should help find your changes from the thousand lines of CSS.

    Once you've found your changes you just copy the changes and paste it into your "Custom CSS" area of the Google Font plugin.
