    Hello,

I am developing a site, but the font is a bit different from one browser to the other. Both browsers seem to be displaying the correct font, but on Safari the font seems to be a bit blurry and a bit distorted.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? The owner of the company is insisting I figure out the solution. Ideally I want to keep the font the current style.

    Site is http://webrevmarketing.com/clients/newwebrev/

    Thanks so much!

  • This is going to sound harsh but… Never going to happen. Using @font-face fonts is never going to render exactly the same on all browsers no matter what you do because differtn browsers have different rendering engines so they translate the font files slightly differently. If you want a real shock, look at a site like this on a Unix PC… You’ll be surprised just how different the entire thing looks there.

The only way to keep things uniform is to use system fonts like Arial, Verdana, etc, or to use images for any text that you want in special fonts. In your case, the first one is bad because you loose your “fancy” fonts, and the second way is pretty much impossible to do.

I know it’s not what you want to hear, but that’s how these things work.

    Hi Michael,

Thank you for your response. That is what I thought but being fairly new to website development I wanted confirmation.

I will change the font to be more cross-browser friendly.

Again, thanks so much for your advise.

    Danielle
