Flickr have recently made a change to the way that API calls (which SimpleViewer uses) must be made. Please see here for further details.

SimpleViewer has already been updated (on the SimpleViewer website) and WP-SimpleViewer itself will be updated very soon.

In the meantime, you can update WP-SimpleViewer manually by doing the following:
    (1) Download SimpleViewer-Standard v2.3.2 from the link on this web page.
    (2) Replace the ‘svcore’ folder in WP-SimpleViewer (‘wp-content/plugins/wp-simpleviewer/svcore/’) with the ‘svcore’ folder from the SimpleViewer-Standard download zip package from Step #1 above (‘simpleviewer_2.3.2/web/svcore/’).

As soon as you replace the ‘svcore’ folder, all your Flickr galleries created by WP-SimpleViewer will display once again.

If you are a SimpleViewer-Pro user, then please download SimpleViewer-Pro v2.3.2 using the link from your original purchase email and use the ‘svcore’ folder from this package in the replacement procedure.

When I view the web page you provided a link to, the SimpleViewer gallery on the page displays and functions fine for me.

Try clearing your browser’s cache to ensure that your browser is fetching and using the most recent versions of your gallery files.

If this does not help, then the problem might be with Flickr’s servers.
It looks like Flickr was down for a short period yesterday (see this Flickr Help Forum thread) so perhaps they are still experiencing problems.

If you continue to experience difficulties, please set me know what the problem is. Do you see an error message displayed on screen? If so, what does it say?

Thank you for providing the screenshot.

Your gallery still displays and functions OK for me (even after clearing my browser’s cache).

Our browsers are both using exactly the same gallery files (on your web server) when we view your gallery.
However, the images may be coming from different Flickr servers when you and I view your gallery. (This is certainly the main variable in the equation.)
The fact that your gallery works for me (and used to work for yourself but now does not, even though you did not change anything), implies that the problem may lie with Flickr. If the problem was with the SimpleViewer files, I would expect the gallery to always fail for both of us.

I will investigate further but, so far, I have not been able to replicate (or see) the problem you describe.

Please let me know if your gallery suddenly starts working again.

On further investigation, I have been able to replicate the problem that you are describing and I have notified the developers of SimpleViewer (although, strangely enough, your own gallery still displays and functions fine for me).

    Here’s what I’ve discovered.

    • Problem does not happen in live preview window in svBuilder-Pro (desktop application which comes with SimpleViewer-Pro) locally (problem happens only after gallery has been uploaded to web server).
    • Problem does not happen in Mobile Player (only in Flash Player).
    • Some people are able to view the gallery OK whereas others are not.
    • Problem seems to happens only when certain image is in first position in gallery. If you change the flickrSort order, the gallery (including the image which was previously in first position) displays fine.

Unfortunately, I do not know what might be causing this problem but we will certainly investigate further.

how to change flickrSort order ? if help this, i try another flickr gallery widget and it’s works fine(so flickr servers is ok i think) but i keep try to resolve this error because simpleviewer is the best gallery for me.

well..i uncheck “use flash” and i have this result

works fine (sure i prefer with flash). i don’t khow if this information helps you.

It looks like the issue may be with Flickr.
In order for the new Flickr image URLs to work within Flash applications, Flickr have had to modify the ‘crossdomain.xml’ files on all their image farms.
Unfortunately, it is taking some time for these modifications to propagate fully through Flickr’s system.
Whether or not you are able to view your gallery successfully will depend on which server is providing the images to your gallery and which whether or not an updated ‘crossdomain.xml’ file is being used.
In time, the modifications will filter through to all image farms and the issue should hopefully resolve itself.
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to speed up the process.

My suggestion to change the sort order worked for me (but may not work for others) because the first image in my gallery was coming from farm 9 for which an old ‘crossdomain.xml’ file was being used.

Switching to the Mobile Player (rather than the Flash Player) by deselecting the ‘Use Flash’ checkbox would be a suitable workaround until the problem is resolved (as you have discovered).

ok thanks for your help Steven. I ll be waiting. At the moment i will use my galleries without flash. 🙂
