Where do you want the swf file to show? In a post,page,sidebar..? How exactly are you embedding it?
Try adding this:
<object width="500" height="500" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"><param value="http://www.yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/yourflashfile.swf" name="data"><param value="high" name="quality"><param value="http://www.yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/yourflashfile.sw" name="src"> <embed width="500" height="500" data="http://www.yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/yourflashfile.swf" quality="high" src="http://www.yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/yourflashfile.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"> </object>
Change the paths accordingly.
i have installed a plug in called wp float as i want it to be on the left side over the background and follows you when you scroll down.
the code i have used is
‘<object style=”float: left;” width=”285″ height=”398″ classid=”clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000″ codebase=”http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0″><param name=”src” value=”http://www.after8word.masterhosting3000.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/after8video2.swf” /><embed style=”float: left;” width=”285″ height=”398″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” src=”http://www.after8word.masterhosting3000.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/after8video2.swf” /></object>’
i tried this with another swf file i have and it worked but with the one i want there it does not work.
i have also just tried the code you gave and it does the same thing
