   I posted a flash file in a post and it plays fine when I'm looking at it from the front page but if I click the title and go to the actual post it just shows a white box.

   Try using an absolute - rather than a relative - url for your Flash files. e.g. http://www.myjokemail.com/images/stories/flash/White-Trash-Christmas.swf
