Hi all I have a problem that I'm trying to fix and can't figure it out. I had my wordpress files located in a sub folder called WordPress/ and wanted my site to be http://www.example instead of http://www.example/wordpress... I followed the instructions in the Codex and once done was able to get the site to show and I could log into my admin panel, the problem is when I click on a link its still showing the old path wordpress/?page_id=31 for example and I don't know how to update this. I would like to update the paths and then adjust the permalinks to reflect better SEO than the above example I mentioned but firstly I wanted to get this paths set correctly also there is at least on the home page as its the only one I can see right now.. there is an image that is missing from the post there... you can view it at

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

    junkhed1,

What are your permalinks set to? Settings > Permalinks

Hey doc4 currently the permalinks are set to the default. I never changed them after initially downloading WP.
Is this where I need to go to?

    Thanks for the reply.

Hey doc4 just realized in my header.php and index.php files I had paths hardcoded for the links going to the old folder location, went in and took that out so the paths would point to the root and all is good the only thing is the images associated with some of the posts would you happen to know how I would fix that?

Thanks again... I'll keep poking around in the dashboard and hopefully find the answer.

Might use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-and-replace/ to replace the old urls in your database.
