I have managed to move the navbar to the top of the page, above the header image, but when I fix it with position: fixed it ends up behind the page content and also the background of the navbar disappears.

Try using the z-index property on the navbar.

The z index property specifies the stack order of the element.

Thank you, I will try that later! Any idea what could have happened to the background though? The navbar is dark grey, but when I fix it, the background won’t stick.

Thank you that worked! it even kept the background colour now, too 🙂
