    Hi all,

    I just got a new personal finance blog up and running. It's a three column layout that is based on a pretty heavily modified version of Spirit.

    I'd appreciate any thoughts, comments or feedback that you might have. Thanks!

    Wow. The silence is deafening. No comments at all?

    It's minimalist, clean (INFINITELY cleaner than it's "progenitor!).... I just don't care for more than 2 columns personally.

    Look good Nickle.. I'd add a header for your google ads called "Ads" The same size and font as Categories. Other then that it's looking good in Safari 2.0.

    Just a quick check... Is the right sidebar rendering properly?

    http://www.fivecentnickel.com/

    It looks fine on my mac, but I got an e-mail from a Windows user that the right sidebard was coming up underneath the center column rather than alongside it. This apparent problem coincided with my having moved the statcounter code from the sidebar to the footer. Thus, I think I may have messed things up. I've since moved it back, but want to be sure that I fixed the problem.

    Thanks!

    both the left and right tool bars are dropping to the bottom. Make sure you set the maximum width right. also you may have to do a margin/padding hack to get it to look right in IE on windows. Since it uses it's own box model.

    to adjust you margins and padding for IE 6:

    .style {
    margin: 0px !important; /* this will be used Safari/Firefox mac and pc */
    margin: 0px; /* ie 5.5 will see this */
    margin/**/:/**/ 0px; /* this value will only be seen by IE 6 */
    }

    Hmmm... I messed a bit with the min-width setting for the center column (made it wider). Maybe that caused the problem? I set it back. Is it okay now?

    If it looks the same, please make sure IE isn't loading a cached page. I don't know about the Windows version, but the Mac version is very persistent about loading a cached version rather than re-fetching it.

    Left nav is ok now. But right nav is dropping down still but the width looks good on all column backgrounds.

    Okay, I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my previous layout, so I switched themes (at least temporarily). I am now using a slightly modified version of Gila, and I'm hoping that it's behaving across all platforms/browsers.

    If you don't mind taking a look at it, I would greatly appreciate hearing how it's doing:
