    Hi all,

Did my install yesterday. Went well after a host snafu. Made a couple of entries added a new category. Very nice!
My admin panel showed that I need to upgrade. Did my 834k dl and unzipped.
Read the instructions page and took care to not overwrite the wp-config.php file. while uploading with filezilla. This is ambiguous. The files have different names so..:
Step 1: Am I supposed to rename wp-config.php-sample to wp-config.php which would then overwrite the original so common sense says no. Why include this file in the package?
Step 2: Upgrade your installation: I didn’t run this file and when I had logged into my admin page the need to upgrade message was gone. When I did run the upgrade “No Upgrade Required”.

Otherwise, fantastic upgrade package. Maybe a ink to that enable caching page. So far what a great product.

  • The reason the config-sample is included is because the same package is used for upgrades as well as new installs. Sometimes unless it is a major version upgrade you don’t have to run the upgrade script, usually if it’s need you know about it when you go to log in.

Hello Jeremy – I need help uploading to my website. Can you help…Please ?

If you would like to have a wordpress blog installed for free then visit http://install4free.wordpress.net (I volunteer there as well)

Thanks! That is where I started my help search. I’ll head back there now though and try again. thanks !

I feel really stupid for having to ask this … but HOW do you run the upgrade.php?

I have put in the address of my subdomain at Startlogic and the file path I use in my ftp transfers.

    ce.startlogic.com/public_html/WordPress/wp-admin/upgrade.php

I get ‘page cannot be displayed’. My WordPress installation is new as Startlogic have just moved me to a new platform and just upgraded to WP 2.3.2 so I have no personal content on there yet, so I figured this would be a good time to do the next upgrade to 2.3.3 that the admin area is telling me to do. I have transfered all the updated files over, just don’t know what to do next. I have read and reread all the instructions.

    I’d appreciate some help, please?

Just realised this topic was resolved, so will open a new one with my question.
