   Hi -

   Newbie here. A friend has a WP blog and needs me to help him upgrade to the latest version.

   My query is this; how safe is it to do a full upgrade without doing a backup of everything? And, since I probably will do a BU, is there a good, solid plugin for doing a database BU, or is phpMyAdmin the best solution?

   I have already backed up all the non-SQL files via FTP.

   I tend to use phpMyAdmin.
