I down load wordpress and unzip it into a new file. everything appears ok
following the readme file
Open wp-admin/install.php
I do this and all I get is what is in the file in a wordpad document
I read further to go into wp-config.php-sample.php I follow instructions and save it.
doesnt seem to make any difference

Can some person help me please the famous 5 minute install is running into 5 hours

The famous 5 minute install assumes that you have access to a server.

Read the codex article carefully for the prerequisites and where the files are supposed to go.

If you don’t currently access to a web host, scroll all the way to the bottom of the above link and read the bit on WAMP.

If you still have problem installing a wamp server on your PC then I have a article and video that will show how to install a wamp server and wordpress on wamp server.

I have set-up my web site and I show up on the internet. When I go to publish it just keeps spinning and will not publish articles. Any idea of what may be wrong?

@thevegannurse What changes do you want to make and need to know if you are using Home as blog which is set by default or a static page.

@scotty22 There may be conflicting plugin did you try and deactivate all plugins and try if it works activate one at time to find the conflicting plugin.
