This is my first attempt at building my own WordPress site.

Theme is made from scratch. This is for the Southern California Collegiate Snowsports Conference. It's a little dark on some monitors (I must have really bright ones because I don't notice it unfortunately.) Any suggestions are very welcome! I'm really new to this so there's not a ton of intricacies.

    Thanks!

It's nice, the picture really pops, but are your visitors into reading, or just looking at pictures? Because I couldn't read a word of it!

I've noticed more and more sites doing the low contrast thing with text, and I don't understand it.

    Other than that, nice site!

Yeah, like I said, I didn't realize it was so dark.. I built it on my LED backlit macbook pro so what I saw was really bright. I experimented lightening up the text, but then it sort of just looks like text on black, because on those monitors even the background does't stand out. I might have to go in and brighten everything up together... egh.

I think it looks lovely. I didn't have a problem reading any of it, but maybe some of your main content text could use a little lightening.

I like it, looks classy and fun.

Would you mind enlightening me as to how you did the crossfading image thing?

Good job. The only thing you need now are nice permalinks.

Yes, you're right... I tried reading about that but didn't quite understand. Maybe another day.

    Fading is with Jquery innerfade.

Also, if you want to have all kinds of other 'fading' transitions to choose from, you can try the jQuery Cycle plugin. I'm a big fan. Find it at:

That Cycle plugin looks great! I was trying to figure out how to have the whole continuous slide but still provide control ability between them. Looks like I'll have to implement this sometime soon. Thanks

It is very nicely done, but my aging eyes have a hard time reading it.
