Firefox, especially 3.5.2, doesn't work on WP sites. (11 posts)

At least not mine. Upgraded everything I could, including plugins. Safari works. FF gives me errors for the page, or clicking a link to go to another page on the site just gets stuck and spins forever, never opening the page. Not just a one time thing....been happening all the time. FF is also not good on Godaddy, but anyhow. Anyone having these problems with WordPress using Firefox, or any answer?

    link?

  3. Signs point to something wrong with your computer.

I've been using FF 3.5.2 for 99.99999% of my browsing on Mac and PC, and the only issue I have is uploading videos on YouTube. Doesn't like some of my FF plugins.

lol, been on 3.5.2 for a while myself, i'm yet to have problems on any site...

If i had problems with Firefox on any WP sites i visited i'd be using a different version.

I use 3.5.2 on 3 different PCs, none of them exhibit any problems on any sites, other then sites (non-wordpress) that are years old using old and invalid code.

Try creating a new profile in Firefox... (it'll load without extensions etc ... just like a fresh install), this may help (it may not).

Sorry I was unable to get back to this forum more promptly. It looks like everyone understood that I use a Mac, but adding this for clarity for others who may comment.

Can't afford a new computer, and it works basically fine otherwise. (iMac G5, last model before intel, about 3-4 years old). Hope it isn't that.

I did create a new profile. In the process, I deleted the old one, but also chose "do not delete files" with it, like it suggested. It solved one technical problem on my WP site with a font, strangely, but all the other aforementioned issues remain.

I'm having a more techy friend help me out hopefully Sunday, long distance! If that is not fruitful, I will supply the link.

I appreciate your time and interest, to say the least.

I haven't talked to my friend yet, but it appears - I hope - that I found the problem: the WP bookmarking plugin "Sociable." Since I deleted it, I have not had the problems with my links not working. The search still works kind of strange compared to Safari, but I have to double check that to make sure.

In summary, it appears that the "Sociable" WP plugin is not compatible with Firefox for Mac, at least not 3.5.2 - or at least not on my computer.

    SPOKE TOO SOON.
It was working fine for an hour, and I thought just as good after I installed "AddThis" WP bookmark plugin. Now it's back to the stuck on a link waiting forever thing. I was not able to speak to my friend yet to see if he could take care of this.

SAMBOLL: I will provide a link to my site right here if my friend cannot take care of this, will know sooner than later. My site is in progress, and I would feel more comfortable sending you the link privately. But if that is not appropriate, then I can still leave it temporarily here.

    CONCLUSION -
I suspect the problem is not FF and but the site itself, all my other sites and anyone else's in FF are fine. There's a myriad of factors going on here. I need do more checking and testing before I lay this out for others here to try to resolve.

I immensely appreciate your input and patience with this. I would rather use this resource only as a last resort, after I tried everything I can think of, for all our sake. Take care. I may repost this topic in another form if I get into any more issues.
