Fresh install of WP 2.6.1. No issues during installation. Works okay in Safari.

No widgets, only Akismet plugin is enabled.

Firefox 3.0.1 can't open the Write page. It simply times out.

I have very little info to go on - the only errors I seem to get from FF are CSS-related.

Any ideas what I should do? I tried to enable Google Gears but it hangs on preloading the data (on item 122) so no luck with that.

Works in other browsers, probably a Firefox issue. Try running "Firefox (Safe Mode)" and reset the user preferences. I've never had issues with Firefox and WordPress but other settings have gone wonky on me.

works for me using WP 2.6.1 & FF 3.0.1 - it does seem to take a lot longer to load than IE7 does

I get an error in safari that some of the javascripts fail to load, I wonder if this is the case in FF too.

    /js/quicktags.js
    /js/thickbox.css
    /js/thickbox.js

I have tried temporarily to chmod everything to 777 but it does not help. Now my installation refuses to display themes etc. I guess I'll have to start over.

I just tried it Safari 3 and it worked - loaded faster than FF, still doesn't seem as fast as IE7, but I didn't time it.

It seems some of the scripts fail to load no matter what I do. They time out.

For example, in Safari activity window:
    /wp-includes/js/thickbox/thickbox.css?ver=20080613 Timeout

I have chmodded the offending files to hell and back but to no avail. I think there must be something weird in my server setup (I have tons of sites running without similar issues though).

Okay I am obviously having a weird problem here. Firefox 3 will not work on either of my Macs.

Safari also fails to work on my iMac, but works perfectly on my MacBook Pro...it's beyond me to understand why. :)

The title of this topic should be "thickbox.css fails to load". I have a single machine which can load it - three others fail. I have no clue why it works on one machine.

But that's the only machine which will let me preview and activate themes, upload media etc - because these all require the thickbox.css file.
