• Hello,

I am having trouble with finding where on the server WordPress was installed. Here’s the situation. At my job there was a WordPress installation already previously done at least a year ago (I’ve only been here for 6 months). I had always assumed the installation would be easy to find.

As of this week, we are redoing the blogs on our site and I was tasked with adding new themes and getting them ready for students to use. I tried to go in through the online login (wp-login.php one) and it wouldn’t let me install the themes.

So I decide to go through our FTP. Only problem was, I can’t find where it’s installed at. We have two non-default themes…Arclite and Fusion. There are four places on our server where there is an instance of WP being used at. None of the themes folders contain either one.

I have also searched the server files itself and no luck in finding a fusion or arclite instance. What it seems like to me is that the wordpress instance I am trying to access wasn’t installed on our server and was instead installed somewhere else.

My question: is there a way to login to our wordpress account and find where it would be installed at on our server?
