   OMG, why is it so difficult to find legitimate developers these days. 99% of what I come across is a scam. I just Googled "WordPress Developers" and RFQ'd the first link on the page. A lady E-mails me back and says we can discuss my project if I call her number. When I do, an Indian guy picks up with "hello?" and sounds like I just woke him up, and then dismissively tells me the lady is gone for the day! #1 hit on Google, try it...

   I've spent the last week flipping through freelancer.com and getacoder.com portfolios searching for just "1" developer that looks like he has above average skills and haven't found one yet.

   I can't even Google a decent developer.. Even the Google ads on the right side of the screen pull up poorly crafted "developer" sites.

   My standards are high, but not "that" high. Where have all the decent developers gone?

   when i was doing this, i contacted the developers of some of the highly rated, well done, plugins. most of those guys are looking for work, although a lot of them are busy quite often, but just an idea.
