Hi and Pardon my French!
Ive recently installed the Google Maps GPX Viewer plug-in to my WP blog at http://www.mah-yann.se
Now fiddling with it im trying to find a way to automatically update the GPS position icons onto the map on the blog.
We are on a long-time sailing trip to the Mediterranean and want to show our followers of our blog where we are at.
1) Automatic update every hour of a positional icon onto the map in the blog. If the position is not changing there should be no update (ie boat in harbour). We have several navigational systems onboard (RayMarine C80 w NMEA interface...laptops w GPS-dongles..)
2)Feature to update the icon/POI with a personal note, photo or videoclip
3)Feature to include a overlay file (KML/GPX ??) with a preliminary route or track (lets say a greeen dotted line) The route must be editable on our way.
!!!FINDERS FEEE!!! !!!FINDERS FEEE!!! !!!FINDERS FEEE!!!
If you can help us out here -either by the proposed tools, or any other way/plugin/SW/method - we offer a free week onboard the s/y Mah-Yann as we tour the european waterways between Lubeck, Germany to Nijmegen by the Dutch border OR the Route from Lubeck to Mosel/Moselle (French name for Mosel) by the French border.
Either way is around one week trip, and should take place in May/June 2013.
You will stay in our aft cabin and will participate in the daily matters onboard (really not to much to do! Give a hand in the locks...) The mast will be stored in Travemunde, so this means motorboating a sailboat in speeeds not exceeding 6 knots.
You will pass all those ancient castles, wineyards, little villages and bigger cities en route ( we will later stay 2 month moored downtown!!! in Paris), and this must be the best way ever to see Europe.
The boat is a 36-footer sailboat built 1976 in Sweden, a bluewater Cruiser extremely sturdy built and with all the commodities onboard: A/C, Heating, Two hotwater showers, Electical toilet, Full kitchen, ac 230 V/dc 12 V systems, full kitchen, HDTV, WLAN and wireless Sniffer, Autopilot, AIS, Radar, Short wave radio, two electrical mini bikes, life-raft and small RIB w little outboard engine and yada-yada-yada...
We split the costs for diesel and food onboard (your part of diesel/day will be some 7 Eur/10 USD) No else costs on your part.
