• I have a plugin that I’m wanting to retire. It uses a very handy shortcode that we used in a few key places and those references I was able to find and convert over to a new shortcode that I wrote that’s more specific to our needs.

However, I suspect I used this code in a few odd posts and now can’t find any way to find those posts. The concern is that I’ll remove the plugin and then break those posts.

How can I find out which posts contain those very specific shortcode references?

  • You could use a plugin like: http://wordpress.org/plugins/search-and-replace/ to search for your shortcode.
You will find the id of the post containing this shortcode and then you can manually edit those posts.

BE CAREFUL not to search & replace. Just search

Let me know how it went

I tried and it came up empty for some reason. I actually have that plugin.

Oddly I did find a solution! The default Search function of the site found the references without any issue. Go figure! The Admin search came up empty as did the plugin search but yet the normal search could find it.

    Thanks.

Super cool! Glad you have your problem solved.

    Cheers!
