Filter when posting (5 posts)

    filters like phpGiggle are acting on the post as it is displayed but in some possible casses would it not be faster to filter the content before saving to the database? Also, for say a spell check like filter, it would not work so well the way it is now alone.

    As I see it, filtering then saving to the DB unnecssarily increases the DB size ?

    and u wont be able to change the URIs for example at will.
    plus it wont work on old posts...

    I can see the benefit of having 'display filters' and 'saving filters'. Perhaps, though, it would be better to keep the concept of 'filters' confined to what we currently know as filters... something like a spell check might be described as a plugin instead of a filter.

    I agree, better filter before saving than filter each time when displaying, maybe for the next version (I hope).
