I’m having the same problem. Installed the plugin for the sole purpose of enabling a file to be uploaded to a user profile. Everything seems to be working (no error messages) except that the file is not saved anywhere. I’ve checked the file permissions and they’re okay. Do I need to add a database table to get this to work? I’d prefer if the plugin would just use the usermeta table.
I am also having the same problem… I have made a custom field as Avatar and chose its type as “Picture”. Now when I am trying to upload an image via user profile, the image is not updating…
Any ideas?
An answer for this is already present in the FAQ, can you please check that covers your issue too?

Hello Marco Cimmino,
But can you please highlight the issue here? As I have made sure that the Picture/Avatar upload directory xxx/wp-content/Cimy_User_Extra_Fields/
is created and writable. But am not able to see the avatar image updated on the user profile page 😐
@charanjits
looks like you’re off topic, people here cannot upload files, while you can seems so. Choose avatar field instead of picture.
Thanks a lot Marco Cimmino seems like changing the type from profile to avatar did the trick 🙂 Thanks!
