Files Missing in Fantastio WP Setup (3 posts)

I have installed WordPress with Fantastico and when I login to admin then go to Presentation/Themes there are no themes at all showing up.

Also at the same time when I click on Plugins/Plugin Editor I get this error "Oops, no such file exists! Double check the name and try again, merci."

I am thinking that there is a permissions problem somewhere on the server as this is happening with 3-4 installs exactly the same way.

My server host says they will look into this and its been over a week and they say they don't give support for WordPress but I think or guess it is not a WordPress problem.

I forgot to mention that I did a fresh install without using Fantastico on this same server and still the same problem.

    Any Suggestions?

What are the permissions on your wp-content folder and the plugins/themes folder?

    WP-Content folder is 777

And WP-Content/Plugins and the WP-Content/Themes are also 777

I had a coder check out the install and he said that the "It's the dir() php function that is disabled"
"Warning: dir() has been disabled for security reasons (...)"

    Could this be the reason?
